Florida has location specific regulations for automotive window tint. Municipal, county and even state regulations can have slight variations in what is and what is not considered legal. At Empire Auto Spa we continually monitor these recommendations and will advise you accordingly, based on the level of tint you request

Window Tint Level
Florida window tint laws address the percentage of visible light allowed through your windows. This is also referred to as VLT (Visible Light Transmission). Florida window tint regulations do not allow front windshield tint to go below the AS-1 line. Side windows on your vehicle can have 28% VLT, back side windows 15% VLT, and rear window 15% VLT.

How much is window tinting in Florida?
Every project we do at the Empire is a custom job. That being said, our entry level tint, for a an average-sized car may start as low as $99. If you have more discerning taste or a luxury vehicle, you can expect to spend upwards of $500.
Is 15% tint legal in FL ?
Currently, in Orlando, residents are permitted to have 15% on the rear of the vehicle and 28% on the front. There are some minor differences for larger vehicles like SUVs and vans. Local regulations allow these vehicles to install tint as dark as 6%.  Please check the local laws here to double check.
What is the darkest tint available?
In the industry, 5% tint  is the most aggressive tint allowed. The 5% classification means that only 5% of of outside light is allowed in. This is the stereotypical blacked out tint, typically reserved for limos only. Although the appeal of a totally blacked out look may look cool, it does offer some challenges when backing up or driving at night.
