CUSTOM VEHICLE FINISHES WE OFFER
Gloss is the “shiniest” level of wrap for vehicles. Gloss finishes provide a reflective, bright and head turning look for your vehicle while still providing excellent finish coverage. One of the first styles of wraps developed, it remains a customer favorite due to the visual impact it achieves. Whether you choose to cover your entire vehicle or use them for accents like pin-stripes or full length rally stripes, this finish is a great choice.
Now for the cons of gloss finishes: Because it’s got such a high level of sheen, it can highlight imperfections and flaws more than the other styles of wraps. One benefit to the high-gloss finish is the ease of maintenance.
Gloss finish wraps typically include:
- 8+ Year outdoor lifespan
- Durable and reliable coverage
- Easily customizable to most shapes and sizes
- Perfect for business or personal applications
Satin finishes have risen in popularity in the last few years. A satin sheen is right in the middle between high gloss and a matte finish. If you are looking for a less aggressive shine but don’t want a primer flat look, then satin is for you. We have installed Satin Apple Green, Neon Fluorescent Yellow and Canyon Copper just to name a few. Stop by our showroom to see all the color and design choices available in satin.
Some things to be aware of with satin finishes:
• Very durable and less prone to fading and color shifting.
• Seven-year lifespan
• Pressure-sensitive air-release adhesive
Matte finishes have the least amount of luster. Customers of ours that are interested in a subtle, understated way to change the look of their car tend to choose the matte option. Military green, camo prints and good ol’ flat black can make your car look awesome.
Matte does the best job of hiding dings and imperfection on the body of your car. It’s a bit more difficult to clean and maintain that satin or gloss finishes.
Many of our matte finishes offer the following:
- Easily customized with vinyl cutting tools.
- Seven-year lifespan for paint protection
- Resistance to discoloration during installation
Carbon fiber wraps look expensive, high-tech and just flat out cool. Our carbon fiber wraps are available in a wide variety of metallic finishes, colors and accent patterns. The air release channels in the adhesive mean you’ll have less occurrences of fading or warping and provides superior paint protection qualities.
The main brands we carry are:
If you want to mimic the look of metal, the brushed metal wraps are available in steel, bronze, titanium, aluminum and more.
Brushed metal provides a really interesting texture and gives the appearance that the finish has been hand crafted by an artisan metal worker.
Most of our manufacturers produce a brushed metal finish wrap. There are slight differences between each of the lines, call us with questions or to get a free quote.
The shade shifter or color change film is called “The Chameleon” for a reason. The color change happens depending on the light and how far you are away from the vehicle.
It’s super dynamic look and is certainly an eye catcher. If you like a cutting edge or experimental look, then color change film for you. Some of the gradients fade from one color to another, while others offer a monochromatic blend….red to orange as an example. The names of the color change film are some of our favorites: Caribbean Shimmer, Ghost Pearl, Eclectic Wave, Deep Space and Volcanic Flare.
At the Empire, we love a challenge. Bring us your craziest concept and we’ll make it happen. We can create custom graphics for your car that’s sure to turn heads. Our staff designers use state-of-the art software to spec out a wrap specific to the make, model and year of your car. This high level of precision ensures a perfect wrap, everytime. Increase brand awareness and visibility by turning your company truck, box truck, food truck or fleet vehicles into a rolling advertisement. Wrapping provides more ROI than traditional billboards.
Paint has limitations, wraps don’t. Wraps allow for a vast array of color, material and design choices. Textured, matte, gloss and color change wraps are just a few of the options we have to choose from.
VINYL CAR WRAP FAQ’S
What is a vinyl wrap finish?
Vinyl wraps are ultra-thin sheets of coating that stick to the surface of your vehicle. The wrap forms a second skin over your paint and follows all the contours and edges of your vehicle. We apply the vinyl by test fitting large sections of vinyl to you car and then make exacting measurements and precision cuts to ensure the vinyl is an exact match to the shape and form of your car, The self-stick and pressure activated film allows the vinyl to adhere to your car and mimics traditional paint. You can choose to cover the entire vehicle or elect to use it as an accent like racing stripes or just covering the lower 3rd of your car or go for a bold color changing wrap.
The wraps we install at the Empire have quite a few benefits that make them a popular choice for our customers.
The benefits of wraps include:
• Cost : Wrapping your vehicle is cost effective way to quickly change the look of your car without the time and money of a repaint.
• Variety: The choices available for wrapping your car are endless. You can choose from a wide variety of colors, textures, sheen, prints and even go completely custom and one-of-a-kinds. The choices available in wraps are typically not offered with painting.
• Flexibility: Reapplying things like ceramic coating or re-detailing your car can be labor and time intensive. For these reasons, most car owners only do this a few times during the lifespan of their car. Vinyl wraps are different. If you like to change the look of your car frequently, then wraps are a perfect solution for you.
How much does it cost to wrap a car with vinyl?
Smaller trucks, SUVs and coupes like Mustangs, Teslas or Challengers can start around $3500. Keep in mind there are a lot of varibles that go into the final pricing. The brand, the color and the style of wrap can affect the price. Custom or one-off wraps, things like carbon-fiber look can increase the price as well. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
How long do vehicle wraps last?
Here in Central Florida and Orlando area, car and truck wraps typically last 5 to 7 years. Depending on the finish you choose and the routine care you give your wrap you may have different results.
Are wraps worth it?
With routine maintenance and care a vehicle wrap should last 5 to 7 years. At The Empire we think its worth it, especially given the climate in our area. Its a great alternative to a full repaint and allows you to change the look of your ride every few years. Additionally, if a panel gets damaged, its much more cost effective to replace a single panel vs a full re-paint.
Whether you choose to change the look of your personal vehicle or are using a wrap for marketing purposes, its a great investment.
Can you put a wrapped car through a carwash?
Can wrapping a car damage it?
Short Answer: No.
Vehicle wraps will not affect factory or professional aftermarket paint jobs. The wrap is actually a huge benefit to the painted surface and is designed to act as a protective layer to the underlying paint. If you are looking for other options for paint protection or want to upgrade to ceramic coating, we do that too!
