VINYL CAR WRAP FAQ’S

What is a vinyl wrap finish?

Vinyl wraps are ultra-thin sheets of coating that stick to the surface of your vehicle. The wrap forms a second skin over your paint and follows all the contours and edges of your vehicle. We apply the vinyl by test fitting large sections of vinyl to you car and then make exacting measurements and precision cuts to ensure the vinyl is an exact match to the shape and form of your car, The self-stick and pressure activated film allows the vinyl to adhere to your car and mimics traditional paint. You can choose to cover the entire vehicle or elect to use it as an accent like racing stripes or just covering the lower 3rd of your car or go for a bold color changing wrap.

The wraps we install at the Empire have quite a few benefits that make them a popular choice for our customers.

The benefits of wraps include:

Cost : Wrapping your vehicle is cost effective way to quickly change the look of your car without the time and money of a repaint.

Variety: The choices available for wrapping your car are endless. You can choose from a wide variety of colors, textures, sheen, prints and even go completely custom and one-of-a-kinds. The choices available in wraps are typically not offered with painting.

Flexibility: Reapplying things like ceramic coating or re-detailing your car can be labor and time intensive. For these reasons, most car owners only do this a few times during the lifespan of their car. Vinyl wraps are different. If you like to change the look of your car frequently, then wraps are a perfect solution for you.

How much does it cost to wrap a car with vinyl?

Smaller trucks, SUVs and coupes like Mustangs, Teslas or Challengers can start around $3500. Keep in mind there are a lot of varibles that go into the final pricing. The brand, the color and the style of wrap can affect the price. Custom or one-off wraps, things like carbon-fiber look can increase the price as well. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.

How long do vehicle wraps last?

Here in Central Florida and Orlando area, car and truck wraps typically last 5 to 7 years. Depending on the finish you choose and the routine care you give your wrap you may have different results.

Are wraps worth it?

With routine maintenance and care a vehicle wrap should last 5 to 7 years. At The Empire we think its worth it, especially given the climate in our area. Its a great alternative to a full repaint and allows you to change the look of your ride every few years. Additionally, if a panel gets damaged, its much more cost effective to replace a single panel vs a full re-paint.

Whether you choose to change the look of your personal vehicle or are using a wrap for marketing purposes, its a great investment.

Can you put a wrapped car through a carwash?
We advise our wrap customers to use a touchless wash if they run their vehicle through a retail car wash. Brushes can damage graphics and the film by dulling, swirling, scratching and causing the edges to lift up. If possible, a gentle hand washing or a VIP wash from the Empire is the best choice.
Can wrapping a car damage it?

Short Answer: No.
Vehicle wraps will not affect factory or professional aftermarket paint jobs. The wrap is actually a huge benefit to the painted surface and is designed to act as a protective layer to the underlying paint. If you are looking for other options for paint protection or want to upgrade to ceramic coating, we do that too!

3 REASONS TO WRAP YOUR CAR INSTEAD OF PAINTING

BRANDING

Increase brand awareness and visibility by turning your company truck, box truck, food truck or fleet vehicles into a rolling advertisement. Wrapping provides more ROI than traditional billboards.

COST EFFECTIVE

Peace of mind without the cost or time of ceramic coating or PPF and it’s easy to remove. It protects the original factory paint job and helps retain resale value.

LIMITLESS OPTIONS

Paint has limitations, wraps don’t. Wraps allow for a vast array of color, material and design choices. Textured, matte, gloss and color change wraps are just a few of the options we have to choose from.
